Second Round of Mass Production Begins

Second Round of Mass Production Begins

We've been shipping already for 9 months, and we've almost completely sold out the first production batch. So it's time for us to start our second round of production!

After our first round of production, we've learned some important lessons, and we're going to make this second batch of locks even better. One of the most important improvements is that we're submitting these locks for ART approval, and we're hoping to be ART approved before October this year!

So your LINKA will not only be resilient in extreme weather conditions, it'll be tested and approved by the toughest and most rigorous standards in the world. It's something that we're really looking forward to.

Like our Facebook page, and we'll keep you posted on the updates to this round of production.

Welcoming Kyle to our LINKA Team

Welcoming Kyle to our LINKA Team

Today, we're excited to welcome a new member to our LINKA team! Kyle will be helping Susan with customer support, answering questions on Live Chat, and doing extensive testing on our apps and locks!

Tell us a little about yourself!

Kyle: This is my first full time job, so forgive me if I'm a bit nervous! I grew up in Vancouver, and I learned to bike as a kid riding around the Seawall, the seaside bike path in Vancouver. I remember vividly riding all the way to UBC, which was the first time that I ever rode on the road, and I've been in love with cycling ever since. I'm also a huge fan of the outdoors and I really enjoy playing tennis.

What makes you so excited about working at LINKA?

I like working in a small company startup environment with lots of learning opportunities and lots of areas to take initiative. I also like working with physical products like locks rather than just virtual products like media companies.

What do you think is the most important thing to get more people cycling?

I think many people don't see cycling as a serious way to get around, but as something for hipsters or professional cyclists. In my home province, there is a law requiring everyone to wear helmets, which I believe hurts the cycling brand. Also, I know many people who just don't have bikes, sometimes because it was stolen and they didn't want to buy a new one.

If you could visit in one place in the world, where would it be?

I would like to visit India one day. I think it's a place with very good food, especially since I'm a vegetarian.

Thanks Kyle, and welcome to the team!

LINKA Wins Design & Innovation Gold Award at Taipei International Cycle Show

LINKA Wins Design & Innovation Gold Award at Taipei International Cycle Show

Hard work pays off!

We just finished an exciting and busy week at the Taipei Cycle Show. We met with bike manufacturers (OEM) around the world, spoke with industry specialists, and saw an amazing display of innovating bikes and products.

We had hundreds of people visiting our booth every day, and we were very excited to show everyone the new products we had to offer. Now that we've already been shipping for 6 months, we had a good idea of what customers would be saying.

At the end of the show, we came out winning the Design and Innovation Gold award! I think this is a huge achievement for our company, and really shows that we're on the right direction when it comes to creating a great bike lock.

We may be able to sit back and gloat at our success, but we have to keep working hard! We have some amazing new products that we're developing, and we can't wait to reveal the new things we've got coming!
